I did these two fellows for my friend Dave who needed some designs. I had a hard time coloring inside lines, something I don't practice much. Kids, when you are tired at night trying to fix something don't evaluate your drawing, evaluate yourself. Go to sleep and in the morning your drawing will still be crap  but at least you will have some fresh energy to find solutions. (Fresh coffee helps too)

I will change the left character for something more animal.

I've been reading Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter, it's just GREAT. Seth Grahame-Smith have great ideas about vampires, very cool stuff. Having said that, I'm not sure I will see the movie, I'm visualizing the whole thing in my mind. So that's a book recommendation, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is also cool, but there's a romantic flavor that I wasn't looking for.

Retouching some old stuff

Just playing with black & white in Manga Studio. I found this logo in my archive, It's always good to pay a visit to that old folder.

Wow this one's funny. Mad Max meets Animal Farm, that's what happens when I try fantasy characters.

I bought a Arches paper pad (Cold Pressed 3.9" X 9.8") I love it, the texture is just perfect for watercolor. You can actually see it on this small sketch. I find the hot pressed harder to work with because of his smooth surface. Hot pressed red cover, Cold Pressed Green cover. The Orange cover is rough texture, I didn't try it.

Here's a mid-range value test. The selection tool is useful in this example to create quick forms.

When I watch Toppi I get excited and I do rough like this. Kind of inspiring for a short graphic novel. Nah I'll never do it! :)

Meanwhile in another galaxy

Pretty pretty pretty good... A friend of mine discovered this software Paint tool Sai from a japanese company. You can edit pretty easily your curves. Here I just did a quick...very quick test by changing the weight of the lines. It's free, I'll send it to Adobe.
